I then stitched my side seams up to finish off my bodice (image 1). I decided to sew the bottom of the bodice to finish off the mounting of the fabric (image 2). There was a little bit of excess chiffon fabric which I decided to leave in to allow for more blousing.
I decided to do a French seam on my sleeves to create a neater finish than a normal seam. I struggled with this (image 3); it was very difficult to sew and took numerous attempts to get it in place. I then began working on my elastic in my sleeves. Even though I had removed the curve out of the pattern it was still really difficult to get in place. I decided to leave the edge of the sleeve rather than turning it up (image 5). I think this reflected my theme and dress well and even though it normally wouldn’t be left like that I think it worked well with the chiffon and elastic.
