Brief analysis:
AD101-
After starting the AD101 module, I firstly re-read over the brief. I am expected to create an up to date blog documenting my work over the year. I must document my work in a diary style format reflecting on any problems I have had over the course of the module. I must also put together a file collecting inspiration which will be annotated. The file must also contain SMART targets, feedback, SWOT analysis, learning styles and analysis of the modules and evaluations of the modules.
AD104-
During the module of AD104 I am expected to create a report containing market research and analysis of a department store within the north east. I also need to write an essay after completing research on ethical fashion. I will create bibliography’s for both of the tasks and present them A4 and bound.
AD107-
In the module AD107, I am expected to create 2 A3 boards containing designs on Adobe Illustrator. I will create a file alongside this containing my development annotated as well as a CAAD diary expressing what I struggled with and how I learnt how to get the hang of design illustrator. I will also put together another file containing at least 20 images of design illustration from 1980-200 annotated as well as a 1000 word essay with the title “Describe and comment on the use and development of digital applications within the fashion industry.”
AD108-
For this module I will create a portfolio of work into the research of Steampunk creating colour, fabric and inspiration board’s as well as 6 pages of A3 flats as well as a 2A3 hand rendered final boards. I will also create a sketch book with some extra research and design work. I will then construct the final design to create an industry standard garment. I will also create a report which will explain the development of my project and evaluate the project.
AD114-
This module will include the development of portfolio work of a chosen topic. It will be presented in an A3 portfolio along with a sketch book
AD115-
This module will be presented in an A4 file showing the initial development of pattern cutting and sewing techniques, along with annotation.
Evaluations:
AD101-
After completing the PPD module it has allowed me to really understand how important and helpful it is to create a diary style development of work. It has helped me develop by being able to look back on what can be improved to know for next time. Using the SMART targets for the last few weeks has allowed me to become more organised with my work and enabled me to use my time effectively. Evaluating everything I do has also helped me develop as a fashion student because it is constantly showing me ways to improve.
AD108-
After completing this module it has shown me that Steampunk is not as obscure as I originally thought it was, there is a lot of information out there about it and it is constantly growing and becoming more apparent with its unique style throughout the fashion industry. With the dramatic catwalk designs becoming more and more the norm the unique style of Steampunk is becoming increasingly more popular throughout the fashion industry. I discovered what the typical Steampunk style is, from the Victorian royal colours to the strong corset style silhouette. I have learnt the importance of components in a garment from the priceless old-fashioned cog to the industrial style chains. This has proved very important and useful to me throughout the development stage of my portfolio and throughout the entire creative process. My endeavour to fully understand Steampunk has allowed me to create interesting and unique designs and boards throughout my portfolio. If I was to complete the module again I think I would conduct some questionnaires to view some more people’s opinions in the target audience range and also a less obvious client. I think this would enhance my results and allow me to fully explore the Steampunk genre.
AD104-
After completing the module I have been able to have a more clear knowledge of the fashion marketing side of the industry. It has opened my eyes to some of the eco issues going on in relation to the fashion industry as well as some of the social. I think the module has helped me understand the business side of fashion more. If I was to do the module again I would research into some more of the ethical fashion issues surrounding fashion.
