LBD construction- Toile

I started my toile by pinning my pattern pieces onto my fabric and cutting them out. I used a lining fabric instead of calico to try and create more of the gathered flowing look I wanted. The fabric was ok to pin and cut (image 1 and 2).

I then started working on the construction of my garment. Before I started I pressed all of my fabric (image 3). I then pinned my shoulders together, stitched them with 1cm seam allowance and pressed them to the back. I noticed there is quite a weak spot on the shoulders therefore on my final garment I am going to sew satin binding around the neckline. I then pinned my side seams together (image 4), stitched them (image 5) and pressed them to the back (image 6). The lining fabric was proving to not be very suitable due to it being difficult to stitch creating quite a weak stitch line. Besides the fabric the construction of the bodice was a success.
