LBD construction- Pattern alterations

 

I firstly altered my sleeve pattern; I shortened the curve on the bottom on the sleeve from the first pattern (image 1) to a more subtle curve (image 2) to make it easier to get the elastic in for my final garment, I have left I slight curve to allow room for the elbow, this should mean it will be functional but will create a neater finish.

 I then needed to alter my back pattern pieces because after completing my toile (image 3 and 4). I now know that I don’t need the back seam because the elastic can fit over the shoulders. I put my bodice back and skirt back onto a fold.

 

Finally I decided I was going to have my bodice front cut on the bias to give it more of a flowing look (image 5). I created the full pattern piece for it as it was going to be cut on the bias.
