Because of the calico being very thick and the layered ruffles, I decided to stitch the ruffles on separately to create a neater finish. It was quite difficult stitching the ruffles on because of the fabric being so thick, it was quite awkward but as I am using a much finer fabric, therefore I think it will be a lot easier for the final piece.
