CAD development

Week 3

I began this dress by creating the outline. I was planning on trying a few different a few different techniques of creating the outline. I initially tried using this method for the outline. I was trying to familiarise myself with numerous ways of using adobe illustrator.

After attempting this it initially didn’t work first time round because I wasn’t used to creating designs this way and found it difficult at first to get used to doing the outlines.

I then used the divide button to attempt to get rid of some of the lines that had not crossed correctly. I still had the problem of the line not being straight down the centre. I then just moved the anchor point to get in straight.

After completing the line, I then decided I wasn’t happy with the bottom of the dress, I didn’t think it looked right. I think overall this could be the actual style of the bottom of the dress as well as the curves not being correct.

After that still not working I decided to redraw it after realising that I couldn’t put anything past the middle line, so that after completing one side I was able to copy paste and reflect. I decided to try a different style on the bottom of the dress to create a different look. I think this works better but I’m still not happy with the bottom.
